Gili Sands Hotel & Bar

Very noisy... there was work going on near the pool, we didn't dare go there... but close to the sea and the street with everything

It's close to the port, so it's one of the busiest areas on the island, but this has its advantages (you can walk to the port, which is convenient if you have a lot of luggage, although that wasn't our case) and disadvantages (loud music until 3:00 am). For me, it wasn't a big problem because you arrive tired and fall asleep quickly, and also because our room was the furthest from the main street, so it's quieter than the closer ones. Our room was on the top floor facing the pool; it doesn't have a view, just a small window that doesn't look out onto anything in particular. The cleaning was good... you can tell they've never swept under the bed. The air conditioning motor is very noisy in the bathroom, actually shaking, and the plumbing in the bathroom always smells bad. If you look closely at the room, you can see numerous wedges around the doors and in the corners where two walls meet, so bugs can get in. We bought a bottle of insecticide at the store. next door, which was super effective. It's simply a place to sleep. We didn't expect to swim in the pool or be on the premises because they aren't "pretty." We used to swim in the pools at hotels on the other side of the island, which are more luxurious and free if you order from the menu. What I liked most was the friendliness of the staff, always willing to help (I asked for an extra pillow, laundry service, and even an extra night because my boat to Bali was canceled and I had to stay). I'm very grateful for being so helpful and always willing to help. I would recommend the hotel because for the price you pay, you can't ask for more, and I was comfortable and slept well :)

Convenient because it is located close to the port and we were able to rent an electric scooter nearby too :) but the bathroom deserves a little more attention when cleaning
